Services
The George Washington University Police Department provides a range of services to the GW community. Many of our services are educational in nature and can be modified to suit the needs of the groups and individuals seeking them. In all cases, the services we provide play an important role in our community policing effort. Please explore the information provided in this section, and don't hesitate to take advantage of the programs and opportunities provided.
4Ride
4Ride, the university's security escort service operates from 7pm to 5am 365 days per year. It provides thousands of safe rides to students staff and faculty across the Foggy Bottom campus each year.
EMeRG
The Emergency Medical Response Group, EMeRG, is a fully liscensed ambulance service in the District of Columbia. It is comprised of student volunteers who are certified as EMT's. EMeRG also provides instruction on CPR/AED certification to the GW community upon request.
Fingerprinting Agencies
Many students use fingerprinting services during the background check process for internships and jobs. While GWPD does not provide fingerprinting services to students, there are a variety of agencies across the city that provide this service.
Honor Guard
GWPD's Honor Guard performs a variety of ceremonial services for the GW community upon request.
Lost and Found
The Lost and Found returns lost items to students everday. It's open from 9p-5p on weekdays, but eyeglasses and most keys are available 24/7. It is located in Rome Hall 101.
Lost GWorld Cards
If you have found a lost GWorld card, you should turn it into GWPD. GWPD then logs the card and returns it to the GWorld Card Office where it can be claimed by students. The GWorld Card Office is located in the ground floor of the Marvin Center in Colonial Central.
Neighborhood Services
The department provides additional services the community surrounding the Foggy Bottom campus.
