The George Washington University Police Department (GWPD) offers programs to connect with the GW community. Through these programs, participants are able to interact with GW Police to understand the role of GWPD in GW community and to build positive relationship with GWPD.

Coffee with the Chief allows students and the GWPD Police Chief James Tate to meet and discuss various subjects regarding public safety at GW, community-building, events, partnerships, and more. It occurs every third Thursday of the month between 1-3PM.

r.a.d. training

The Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.) training is a basic physical defense course for women focuses on techniques in self-defense, highlights awareness, prevention, risk reduction and avoidance. It includes lecture, discussion and hands-on physical self-defense techniques.
The R.A.D training course is a total of 9-hours, conducted over (3) days.
